DESCRIPTION: caponata is one of the most representative dishes of Sicilian cuisine.

It is obtained from the separate cooking of the individual vegetables that compose it. Subsequently they are assembled and enriched with ingredients that give them contrasts of unique flavors. The main pillar, in terms of flavor, is the irresistible and fragrant sweet and sour sauce. The richness and vivacity of colors certainly make it stand out its beauty.

    Caponata is ideal as an aperitif or appetizer, but it can also go very well as a side dish in combination with meat or fish dishes. It can also be used for the preparation of tasty first courses such as the Sicilian Lasagne alla caponata .
